Artwalk 2020
At the beginning of April when the lockdown was imposed, Linda Golding, Ann-Marie Day and I started a group on facebook. The group is for the members to keep occupied by creating written word, art and craft while in the lock down.' Creative in the Lockdown' is very successful with currently 108 members sharing the work they have created.
As part of the 'Artwalk at home' on the 30th September We welcome some new members onto the online exhibition on the Chantry Chapel website of the artwork from the posts. The artists we have are producing some very good artwork. This will help to keep the following of the Artwalk and keeping The Chantry's profile in the public's mind.

The Black Death was the most fatal pandemic recorded in human history peaking in Europe from 1347 to 1351. Resulting in the deaths of up to 75–200 million. The Wakefield Bridge was built in stone between 1342 and 1356. Built in a time of a pandemic it seemed a very good reason to put a Chantry Chapel on the bridge to honour the souls that passed away. The new bridge gave them hope. |
