Eve Finlay Miller: Perspective
Welcome to "Perspective". This exhibition captures moments through my perspective, bringing together various elements of my work into a cohesive, immersive installation that will transport you, the viewer, into my world.
Recently I have been trying to integrate two ongoing elements of my practice that happen alongside each other but are disparate in nature. The idea for the exhibition is to bring forward elements from my recent paintings and sketches and look at them alongside the ceramic sculptures I have produced. Reading these together I found that what I produce sculpturally has been reoccurring within my paintings and the motifs have a clear similarity in their nature of colour form and playfulness. I wanted to extrapolate this connection into an installation of sorts that expands the aesthetic of the paintings and sketchbooks into a three-dimensional experience showcasing my ceramic sculptures.
I hope to show you moments of my world by giving you access to all layers of the creative process in my practice.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) displays a collaborative quilt depicting life stories by textile artist Andi Walker in the 14th century Chantry Chapel.
This is the first opportunity to view the large-scale Stitched Stories quilt created by Andi Walker. The artist held a special drop-in weekly session this summer as part of the On Queer Ground exhibition, part of the Summer of Love. Participants would spend time sharing their life story with Walker who then translated marks made during the conversation from paper to fabric.

Taking inspiration from the current exhibition Robert Indiana: Sculpture 1958–2018, Summer of Love was a series of events and projects that celebrated human relationships, understanding and love between people. Elements of the Summer of Love programme focused on LGBTQIA+ artists and considered how different and nuanced aspects of queer identity are expressed and represented in a contemporary context.
The artist and YSP team will be onsite all evening to discuss the work and futures exhibitions and events at the Park.
